Terms

Last updated:

Matched X Singles organises these events. Contact hello@matchedxsingles.co.uk.

These terms explain use of the waitlist and expectations for our padel speed-dating events. The website currently collects waitlist interest. Event-specific booking information will be supplied before you buy.

Eligibility (18+, single)

Our singles events are for people who are single and aged 18 or over. Give accurate information about yourself and book only for an event whose stated eligibility and format suit you. The first events are mixed doubles with equal numbers of men and women; check the advertised format for each event.

Some padel experience is recommended. Coming alone or with friends is welcome. Any age-verification arrangements or other entry requirements will be explained with the booking information; submitting an age bracket on the waitlist is not proof of age.

The waitlist is not a booking

Joining the waitlist requests event updates. It does not reserve a place, guarantee a ticket or create a payment obligation. Capacity is limited and an invitation to hear about tickets is not a confirmed booking. You may skip the optional details without losing your waitlist signup.

Bookings and payment

Before purchase, the booking information will identify the organiser you are contracting with, the event date and location, eligibility, what is included, the total price and any charges, payment arrangements and how a booking is accepted and confirmed. It will also explain cancellation, refund and transfer terms. Read that information before paying and contact us if anything is unclear.

Use the event’s booking information for the final arrangements, payment provider and any charges. Keep your booking confirmation and the terms supplied with it.

Transfers to a same-gender friend

As described in our FAQ, you can transfer your ticket to a friend of the same gender to help keep the event numbers balanced. Your friend must also be single, 18 or over and meet the event’s stated eligibility.

Email hello@matchedxsingles.co.uk to arrange a transfer and update the guest details. Event-specific transfer arrangements will be supplied before purchase.

Cancellations and refunds

If you cannot attend, email hello@matchedxsingles.co.uk for cancellation or refund enquiries and consider the transfer option above. Guest cancellation and refund terms will be supplied at booking, before purchase.

Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected. Event-specific terms cannot remove rights that the law gives you.

Event changes

Dates, venues and event arrangements can be affected by matters such as venue availability, weather or safety. Check the confirmed booking information rather than relying on an earlier announcement. If we cancel a booked event or make a material change, we will contact guests using their booking contact details and offer a replacement date or refund.

Changes to paid bookings and refund decisions remain subject to your statutory rights.

Health and physical activity

Padel involves physical exertion, quick movements, balls, rackets and other players, with a risk of falls, collisions or injury. Consider whether the activity is suitable for you. If you are unsure, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional before taking part.

Wear suitable sportswear and trainers, follow the host’s and venue’s safety instructions, and stop if you feel unwell, injured or unsafe. Tell a host about an immediate concern or a support need relevant to safe participation. Do not play while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Our safety responsibilities and your legal rights continue to apply alongside these precautions. See the liability section below.

Photography at events

The planned event format includes an optional group photo. Permission for photography and use of identifiable images in publicity is separate from attendance. Before taking photos, we will explain their intended uses and ask for permission. Taking part in an event does not give blanket consent to photography or publicity.

If you prefer to avoid photography, tell a host and feel free to skip the group photo. Email hello@matchedxsingles.co.uk with questions, to withdraw permission or to request removal of an image.

Ask before photographing or recording another participant, and separately before posting or sharing an identifiable image. Respect a refusal and avoid capturing private conversations or matching choices.

Conduct and right to refuse entry

Follow our Code of Conduct and the venue’s reasonable safety rules. Hosts may pause play, separate participants, refuse entry or require someone to leave where eligibility is not met or behaviour threatens safety or breaches the code. The response should be proportionate to the circumstances; a serious or immediate safety risk may require removal without a warning.

Any payment consequences of removal will be considered under the booking terms and applicable consumer law. Matching is voluntary: participants privately tick who they would like to see again, and contact details are shared only when both people tick each other. Each person chooses whether to pursue a match or future meeting.

Liability

We remain responsible for obligations and liabilities that apply to us under law, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and all other liabilities protected by law.

Participants remain responsible for their own behaviour and choices, including respecting others’ boundaries. Our legal responsibilities for event safety, services and losses continue to apply. Your statutory consumer rights are preserved.
