The story

Matched X Singles was founded in Surrey by friends Alex and Ashley, who wanted meeting someone new to feel less like an interview and more like a good afternoon out.

Dating apps are quick, but they rarely tell you whether you’d actually get on with someone. Padel does. It’s one of the most sociable sports there is, it gives people something to do and something to laugh about, and it starts conversations on its own.

So they built Match Play: hosted padel afternoons for singles, with a new partner every game, a host on every court with roaming hosts doing the introductions, no scoring and no prizes. The next day, guests privately choose who they’d like to see again, and only mutual choices are shared.

The first event, First Serve, is on Saturday 16 January 2027 at Hurlands Pickleball + Padel Club, Farnham.
